It’s official! The word is out and we’re starting to receive some donations!
While the web site was being built, we were busy reaching out to Olavians Old (some very) and New to seek out their wisdom on exactly what it is that makes Fives the amazing game that has captured so many players from childhood to adulthood.
First up in the series is Seb Cooley, the second in a line of Cooley’s that were at the heart of the start of the Olavian domination of the modern game. Seb is one the many true gentleman of the sport and I really enjoyed his interview, which was of course made all the sweeter because he is the current reigning Pan-Asia Eton Fives champion with, ahem, yours truly.
But first, to the matter in hand. Let’s get those donations coming in! Some things to think about
– If you’re a UK tax payer, we can collect Gift Aid on your donation. That’s more money for the courts, from the Government.
– Check if your employer has a matching programme for charitable donations. Some employers (especially the larger ones) will match your donations. That’s more money for the courts, for nothing!
– Reach out to other players in your year and tell them about the project. If they haven’t played in a while, come along to the Saturday sessions and play!
